Take Advantage of the Warmer Weather to Increase Sales

By the time we reach mid-April, it’s usually safe to say that winter is behind us. (However, just last week it was snowing here in Minnesota, so nothing is ever certain). The warmer weather opens up many more opportunities for marketing and promoting your business. Everything comes to life, and people come out of hibernation. Let’s take a look at a few ways you can take advantage of the warmer weather to increase sales (before the winter comes yet again)!

1. Sidewalk Sales

Sidewalk Sales are a great way to unite the community and increase sales. It’s a time when everyone comes out to shop, so it’s great for promoting your business to a new group of customers. I remember going to Sidewalk Sales as a child, and it was always so much fun checking out all of the different stores and deals. There was a sense of community, and I had the opportunity to check out stores I maybe normally wouldn’t have. Take advantage of community Sidewalk Sales, or even take the initiative to do your own. People who may not have actually entered your store may stop and buy something if your products are brought to them outside your store.

2. Community Events

The summer is full of community events, parades, fairs, and other activities. Don’t let these opportunities pass you by! Could you set up a booth at the county fair? Would it make sense to have a float in your town’s parade? Have special discounts at your store that line up with these community events. Advertise your products and services at these events by giving out coupons, specials, or freebies. Entice people to want to come to your store.

3. Create Partnerships

Another way to promote your business is by creating partnerships with complementary businesses. This is something that can be done any time of the year, but it works really well in the summer. You could join together to put on an outdoor event like a concert, picnic, or children’s event. Offering complementary discounts and deals is also a great way to increase sales. If you offer products or services that complement another business’, offer bundled deals, benefiting both of your businesses.

4. Enjoy the Warm Weather

The summer always goes by too fast. Don’t let it go to waste. Plan company picnics and other events for your employees. Take some time for yourself, as well. Go to the lake, relax, and get some sun. Well-rested, happy employees are able to sell more.

So now, get out there, enjoy the warm weather, and in the process, increase sales!
